Description
Autumn Serenade: An Evening of Vince Guaraldi Nostalgia
Saturday, October 17, 2026 at 5:30 PM
The Barn at Hawthorn Woods
2 Lagoon Drive, Hawthorn Woods, IL
There's a reason Vince Guaraldi's music still stops people mid-sentence. That warm, wistful piano sound defined a season for generations of listeners, and this October, LCSO brings it home. Pianist Connor Cowart leads a jazz combo — with LCSO principal Lauren Moldenhauer on flute, LCSO principal Karl EH Seigfried on bass, Octavio Escamilla on guitar and Calvin Simmers on drums — through the music that made autumn feel like autumn: Linus and Lucy, the Charlie Brown Theme, the eerie charm of the Graveyard Theme, the swagger of the Red Baron, and the beauty of The Great Pumpkin Waltz.
This is a small-room, small-combo evening — no big orchestral wall of sound, just a handful of world-class musicians finding the same magic Guaraldi found six decades ago. Bring a sweater, bring the family, and get ready to hum along.
